At QuickHeat, we believe customers should have options, so we offer two types of power flush: one simple and affordable, and one much more intensive for older or heavily sludged systems.

What a Power Flush Does

​

A power flush is designed to clean out your heating system by replacing the dirty water and removing sludge, magnetite, and naturally occurring debris. We use a high‑pressure flushing pump along with two large magnetic filters to capture contaminants. Over time, sludge settles in radiators, pipework, and boilers. This can:

• Restrict water flow

• Reduce system efficiency

• Cause premature boiler or component failure

A proper power flush helps restore performance, improve heat output, and reduce future sludge build‑up.

Basic Power Flush

​

A cost‑effective, time‑efficient flush suitable for newer systems or systems that work fine but have radiators that aren’t heating as well as they used to.

What We Do

​

• Connect our high‑power flushing machine to your existing system

• Add cleaning chemicals

• Run the machine for around 1 hour

• Flush the system until the water runs visibly clear

​

Pricing (Up to 10 radiators)

​

• If you already have a magnetic filter: £220 + VAT

• Without a magnetic filter: £250 + VAT

• Basic flush + magnetic filter installation: £300 + VAT

Typical duration: around 4 hours

Power Flush Extra

​

This is the full deep‑clean, ideal for older systems, inefficient systems, or heating that’s struggling due to heavy sludge build‑up.

What We Do

​

• Install a magnetic filter (included in the price)

• Add cleaning chemicals and flush the entire system

• Flush each radiator individually

• Use a vibrating tool to break up stubborn sludge inside radiators

• Continue until every radiator runs clean

• Include our radiator cleaning service for free (brush + hoover to clear dust from convector fins)

This option provides the most thorough clean possible.

Important Information​

​

Power flushing uses higher pressures than normal system operation. While most jobs go perfectly, there is a small chance that weak or corroded components may leak or fail during the process. This is uncommon, but not impossible.

If this happens, it is the customer’s responsibility to repair or replace the affected part. QuickHeat will always make the system safe and offer advice or solutions where possible.

Microbore Systems

​

Power flushing can be carried out on microbore pipework, but it is less effective due to the small pipe size and carries a higher risk of blockages.

Radiator Vibration

​

Not all radiators can be vibrated — this will be discussed during the site visit or phone consultation.
